Invitation to businesses – sponsor a travel journal

Businesses are invited to Sponsor a Story

Tours and Tales is a travel writing website, which offers stories about various travelling experiences and other interesting topics. Our journals include photo galleries and/or online videos to enhance the reader’s experience.

We are looking for sponsors to help us cover our costs.

On average, it takes about 2-3 days to make one article. We do it because we love it! Story sponsorships provide a win-win solution. While they doesn’t necessarily cover our time and/or expenses, sponsorship fees help us continue doing what we love … entertaining people with interesting tales.

In a nutshell, your benefits of sponsoring an article are:

  • Exclusivity – to make it interesting for our sponsors, we allow just ONE sponsorship for each travel journal. At the bottom of each article, we include a  Thank You note to our sponsor that may include a brief introduction to your business.
  • Reader focus – perhaps you’ve noticed it yourself while surfing? Suffering from information overload, we have fine-tuned our “internal scanners” to ignore the multitude of ads and flashing banners on website pages, which is often seen as junk or unneccesary information. To make visiting our website and reading the stories a nicer experience, we have removed all forms of advertising e.g. Google Adsense, etc. Instead we have opted for the “sponsor a story” route, where businesses can show their support in a de-cluttered and easy-to-read website page.
  • Relevance – we believe in Win-Win. We need to cover our (travelling) expenses to be able to write these articles, take inspiring photographs and make internet videos. The people who find and read our stories are interested in that specific topic, and because their experience is fresh and non-cluttered, they are more open to finding out more about the sponsor – thereby becoming aware of your business and what you might be able to do for them.
  • Longevity – the sponsorship is a once-off, non-recurring fee. All sponsorship Thank You notes will remain on Tours and Tales, as long as the website continues to exist. Any links on the Thank You notes will remain as they as they are valid and active. Please note: these links are NOT intended to make your website appear higher in search engine rankings, but as an additional service for our readers. In accordance with Google’s sponsored / paid link policy, we include the required “nofollow” tag on each link. This tells Google and other search engines that it is a paid link, and prevents our site links from being marked as spam.

Good Candidates for Sponsorships

We are looking for businesses that are related to the indiviual travel journals. If the story is about extreme outdoor activities, then outdoor event management companies and other related businesses can apply. If the activity takes place in a good spot for tourists, then businesses in the tourism industry may apply for sponsorship. Tip: the most important thing is that the business must be relevant to the article!

Please note: Marvic reserves to sole right to deem whether or not a business may sponsor a story.
