Whooper Swans

Whooper Swans (Cygnus cygnus) are a large Northern Hemisphere bird that have a deep, honking sound as the name suggests. They prefer wetland habitats, especially during the breeding season while the young are developing enough strength in their legs to support their body weight. They are powerful fliers and can migrate many hundreds of miles. Featured on their 1 euro coin, the Whooper Swan is also the national bird of Finland.

Aside from resizing and adding a watermark, we haved edited our photographs as little as possible to show them as they really are. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
